Joseph's Colours was conceptualized by
noted botanical illustrator Joseph McGhee.
Through his love of nature, he takes his
one-of-a-kind imagery a step further and
produces beautiful wearable, utilitarian art
for the discriminating public.

Each design is scrupulously researched
and after many preliminary drawings from
life, an original watercolor is created for
final reproduction.  Then, using the most
vibrant and durable inks, the image is
screen printed on T-shirts, smocks, tote
bags and other fabric pieces.  And Joe
oversees all aspects of production to
ensure the end result meets his strict
criteria.

An early project of Joe's studio was the "Wildflower" shirt commissioned by the Garden
Club of Georgia
and the State of Georgia in 1989.  According to their buyer it is "the most
successful tee shirt project Parks (Dept.) has ever done."  Over 40,000 sold, leading the
Garden Club to commission three additional designs.  Following these unprecedented
achievements, designs have been commissioned by the Atlanta Botanical Garden, The Garden
Clubs of Alabama, Florida and Arizona, and Bowman's Hill Wildlife Preserve.  (In Alabama
and Georgia part of the proceeds were used to plant wildflowers along the state roadways).
